Well, I'm sure Midway searched around forever to find a willing, dumb partner for their new game, and DC's never been on solid financial footing.

I absolutely HATE anything that involves pitting action heroes, superheroes, etc. against each other--or stories where they're "united against a common foe", for that matter. Since something like this involves a collaborative of writers from the various media involved, none of the characters ever act or speak as they usually do, everything seems forced and awkward and the whole thing ends up a convoluted mess most of the time.

The idea of the characters from Mortal Kombat somehow managing to cross the paths of the DC crew sounds like probably the dumbest idea any comic writer could come up with. I can easily imagine someone flinging darts at a dartboard covered with superhero/video game characters--"Let's see...how about..*thwack* Mortal Kombat versus...*thwack* DC Universe. Oh yeah, that sounds as good as anything." Ghaaa, spare me.
