Movie Theater Behavior Standards

September 3, 2008

I’ve been going to the movies a lot lately, and every time I do one of my weekend box office reports at Den of Geek, I’m reminded of my previous moviegoing experiences. I’m kind of a movie experience snob (though I do love eating and drinking during movies when it’s beer and real food), but considering that most people shouldn’t be allowed to leave the house, I usually abstain. Meanwhile, everyone around me is crunching, texting, talking, gesturing wildly, shifting around, kicking the back of my chair, and generally causing me to fly into a rage.

Rather than rant about that, I’ll just show you the trailer I think needs to play before every movie. Maybe the morons will get the message, then. Plus it’s absolutely the funniest part of the Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film For Theaters.

That’s going to replace the Mercenaries 2 commercial song as my newest ear worm.

Mixed Business

May 28, 2008

Lots of stuff to link to today, boys and girls, with lots of big stuff happening all over the eBays for your old buddy Ron. First of all, I’ve got a new gig over at Den of Geek, doing the weekend box-office roundup. Here’s the first of what will probably be many to come, complete with anti-Matrix and anti-V for Vendetta slander.

Also, Monday I continued the Musical Monday kick by posting the new Weezer video, Pork and Beans, over at Shaktronics. Imagine my surprise when I get an email forwarded to me from the company behind the video, Motion Theory, thanking me for spreading the word and even answering some of the questions I had! You know, with so much information out there on the Internet, it’s staggering to think that you might actually be noticed by the people you’re talking about. While my blog isn’t exactly a celebrity hangout like NewsComa‘s crib, I should be nicer to Steven Seagal, just in case he really would like to punch me in the crotch for my mocking love.

I think I’ll celebrate my good fortune by buying this Smaug ashtray. I don’t smoke, but I do like awesome stuff. And dragons. And random links.

Thanks to this Shaktronics post, I’ve got “Still Alive” drilled into my brain.

Indians Love Knight Rider

February 26, 2008

Over at the Electronics Shack, I posted a link to a Knight Rider case mod that was featured over at Engadget, and complained about the lack of Panjabi MC music being played by the KITT case. Of course, since I posted the video of the KITT mod over there, I couldn’t very well post the YouTube video of the song, either. Howevah, here at my personal blogodecahedron, I can post whatever the hell I’d like, and I’d like to share with you some Indian music video that I found.

Now, I don’t know anything about India. I’ve watched a Bollywood film or two at my old friend Apu’s place, but all the singing and dancing and the lack of subtitles left me horribly confused, and Apu didn’t translate fast enough, so I was mostly just enjoying the lights and noises. I’d like to actually check out some Bollywood films with subtitles (not dubbing), so if anyone has any good recommendations, I’d love to hear them. If they’re as interestingly insane as the above video, then I’m totally down for more.

India looks like an awesome country, if only from this music video. They should just send this out as part of their tourism drive. I mean, this and the Taj Mahal are about all you need, right? Blonde Travolta can be the subcontinent’s version of Paul Hogan!

Wii Love Games

January 18, 2008

So, I finally bit the bullet and picked myself up a Nintendo Wii with a massive bundle via Wal-Mart. Read more details here.

Anyone have any recommendations for games or much-needed accessories I should pick up, aside from Wii Sports?

Giveaway Time!

October 9, 2007

So we’re having another free stuff festival over at Shaktronics, and there have been like three entries in 9 days. It’s really disappointing, considering it’s free and I’ve personally linked at least 10 people, and only two of them signed up. So, I’m linking everyone here too.

Go over to Shaktronics and win yourself a Rocketfish Wireless Keyboard and a Rocketfish Wireless Mouse (at the same time) by clicking on this link and doing the following stuff:

*Leave a comment on this post about your newest technology purchase. There will be other posts that refer to the Shaktronics Giveaway but only comments left on this post will count as an entry.

*Link back to this post using the “Another Shaktronics Giveaway” banner in a post on your blog or site.

*If you do not have a blog, leave your e-mail address and tell your friends.

*All comments must be entered by midnight, October 30th.

Come on, it’s free and easy! If you don’t want the wireless keyboard and mouse, I’ll take them off your hands after you win the contest.

We’re doomed! Every year we’re doomed!

September 13, 2007

When will people ever learn? Nobody listened to me when I railed against the Japanese toddler robot, and now there’s Zeno. Zeno, the boy robot.

I FEEL LIKE I’M TAKING CRAZY PILLS!

You know what, Blade Runner? Never mind. We’re screwed; we’re completely and totally screwed. Bring on the combat robots with human faces and start the slaughter of humanity.

I, for one, welcome our new cybernetic overlords.

officially unlicensed crap from disney sweatshops to you

September 5, 2007

me: http://www.shaktronics.com/2007/09/say-hello-to-he.html

Ginger: you need to get that for Ivy

me: hahaha, no thanks, that shit’s expensive

Ginger: lol

me: I’ll glue some fake ears on a normal mouse and make it a Mickey

Also, while I’m self-promoting, I got to take on one of my least favorite people, a director of shitty action films by the name Len Wiseman, and completely destroy his horrible “Underworld” movies, marvel at his inability to screw up Bruce Willis, and be sickened by his decision to anally-rape John Carpenter’s masterwork, “Escape From New York.” Enjoy!

The Flying Car

August 6, 2007

So my Shaktronics post about the glories of the flying car reminded me of something that’s a special bonus feature on my Clerks X DVD, and also one of my favorite Tonight Show sketches of all time. That’s right, kids, it’s Kevin Smith’s short film, “The Flying Car.” In absense of any real meaningful post, here’s a video (again!).

I think I’m most proud of my shameless whoring for my birthday (even though I didn’t, you know, link them to my wishlist like I did here).  Is a little slavish devotion too much to ask?   I mean really, I don’t ask for a lot (mostly just all that stuff on my wish list and, oh yeah, a flying car so Newscoma and I can fly to the pub and drink some Bass).
